Challenge: The New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) sought to develop a collaborative and inclusive approach to curriculum design. The goal was to bring together a diverse group of educators and stakeholders to reflect on current practices and co-create innovative, representative curriculum strategies through a virtual engagement.
Offering & Process: Aminata led a Strategic Design Sprint focused on inclusive curriculum co-creation. She designed and facilitated a 3-day virtual process, developing a detailed agenda tailored for remote participation. Interactive tools and exercises were used to foster engagement and collaboration. Through guided workshops, educators were encouraged to reflect critically on their current approaches and propose inclusive innovations. Aminata ensured all voices were valued and supported the group in identifying actionable strategies to enhance equity in curriculum design.
Results: The sprint strengthened community among participating educators and generated a set of bold, practical ideas to improve curriculum inclusivity. Participants expressed renewed commitment to representative education and left with clear next steps to apply in their schools. A final synthesis report documented key insights and recommendations, equipping NJEA with a strategic foundation for advancing inclusive curriculum initiatives.
